Jane Jenevieve
Jane has exhibited widely across Sydney through galleries, art fairs, and artist-led initiatives, including Self Excited Circuit at Gallery Brave / Today the Brave, The Other Art Fair, Affordable Art Fair, Art Pharmacy, GAS Artist Collective, Articulate, Straitjacket, Elipsis, and SLOT. Her work has also reached international collectors through Saatchi Art. She is currently represented by a luxury art consultancy in Sydney and by Alpha Modern Interiors in Surry Hills.
Jane Jenevieve is a Sydney-based visual artist and composer who creates immersive abstract design works that probe perception, symbolic abstraction, and the observer’s role in shaping meaning. Working from her studio in Marrickville, Jane creates highly textural paintings that move between structure and intuition, often drawing on ideas of thresholds, memory, signal, story, and evolution. Using the currents of image and sound, her work is guided by what feels alive in the moment and shaped through intuition. Each piece grows out of quiet attention, where thought gives way to instinct and the exchange between self and material becomes its own kind of language.
“When I’m painting, it feels less about making and more about allowing. The work moves in its own direction, and I follow quietly. Sometimes it feels as though something is travelling through, an impulse, a rhythm, a tone. I don’t try to define it. I just try to stay open long enough to let it land. Occasionally, I wander into the unknown, only to meet myself there.”
