Established in 2015 as a pop-up space, & Gallery operated in Spencer Street, Melbourne until 2018. In 2020, amid the uncertainty of COVID, founders Julie Collins and Derek John took a leap of faith to realise a long-held dream: opening a permanent contemporary art gallery in Sorrento, Victoria.

Despite ongoing disruptions, the gallery continued to expand its presence, presenting a six month pop-up at Federation Square in 2022, further strengthening its commitment to supporting contemporary artists and engaging new audiences.

To extend this vision beyond the gallery walls, & Art Motel opened in nearby Tootgarook - a bold fusion of contemporary art and boutique accommodation. Offering one and two bedroom apartments, the motel provides a creative coastal retreat for couples, families, and groups.

In September 2026 we closed our Morce Ave Sorrento location.

We are now offering curatorial and collection advisory by Julie Collins.

Showcasing work by established, mid-career and emerging artists through online, pop ups & studio events.
