Joel Gailer

Joel Gailer is an award-winning artist whose multidisciplinary practice encompasses printmaking, painting, sculpture, performance, and digital media. Based in Melbourne, he explores the material and philosophical conditions of painting through sculptural works of art, painting, performance, video, and digital media.
Gailer's work engages with print-informed concepts such as the copy and the reproduction. He roams from medium to medium, using print, painting, sculpture, video, and performance.
His work has been exhibited nationally and internationally, including at Fremantle Arts Centre, RMIT University, and the National Gallery of Victoria.
Gailer is also an educator, serving as a lecturer in Visual Arts at Deakin University and RMIT University.
