Lucas Guilbert is a Melbourne-based sculptor whose work is deeply influenced by his multicultural upbringing in Montreal. Raised in a French-Canadian and French-Mexican family, he developed an early appreciation for diverse perspectives and the interconnectedness of all things . After extensive travels, he settled in Australia in 2007, where he was inspired by the unique landscape and cultural paradigms of his new home.

Primarily self-taught, Guilbert began woodcarving in his early life and has had the privilege of learning from master craftsmen. His woodcarving technique allows him to explore the relationship between wood and place, using the sculptural process as a means of introspective, meditative self-exploration .

Guilbert's work has been showcased in group exhibitions, various galleries, and art competitions around the country. He has also participated in several art residencies, gaining valuable experience and exposure .
