Mary van den Broek
Mary van den Broek is an Australian sculptor whose work explores themes of movement, balance, and the human experience. With a background in Occupational Therapy, she transitioned into fine art, earning an Honours degree in Sculpture from Ballarat University in 2009 and a Master of Fine Art from RMIT University in 2014 . Her sculptures often feature abstract and figurative forms, utilizing materials such as bronze, steel, and stone to create dynamic pieces that engage with space and viewer interaction. Mary has exhibited widely in solo and group exhibitions, including the Melbourne International Flower & Garden Show, and has received recognition for her work, such as the Dalchem Prize in 2015 for her piece Changing Track . Her public art commissions include installations at St John of God Hospital and Ballarat Health Services . Mary is also a member of the National Association for the Visual Arts, the Contemporary Sculptors Association, and the Association of Sculptors Victoria.
