Richard Holt is a Melbourne-based artist and writer whose interdisciplinary practice spans visual art, performance, and literature. He studied painting at RMIT and has been a significant figure in Melbourne's arts community, co-founding the Platform Artists Group and the zine store Sticky. His work often explores the intersection of text, art, and public space, with a focus on community engagement and interactive installations.

Holt's visual art is characterized by rapid, responsive mark-making, often created in the field. His recent series, Creek Painting Series (2025), featured at the TANGLE exhibition at Library at the Dock, showcases his signature style using paint marker and acrylic on paper .

As a writer, Holt specializes in flash and microfiction. His debut collection, What You Might Find, was published by Spineless Wonders in 2018. He also produces text-based videos and interactive public installations under the banner 'Flashing the Square'

Holt's multidisciplinary approach and commitment to community-focused art have established him as a significant figure in contemporary Australian art.
